Update will it update drivers?

I have a new laptop with Win11 system in S mode intel Driver update assistant will not run-on S mode. I use it on another Win11 laptop that is not in S mode I can run. It has alerted me of updates to keep me up to date that is needed.
Will update with in Windows system do the same thing? So far have not found a work around other then turning off S mode a one-way street.

Yes, in S mode you can only install apps downloaded from Microsoft Store for "security reasons". If you like me don't like restrictions, you can upgrade from Windows 11 Home S to Windows 11 Home (standard not limited version) for free. Once you do that you cannot get back to S mode except if you format the disk and reinstall. If you rather stay "safe" with S mode you rely on Windows Update for your drivers and this is not the best option if you have read other threads. Windows Update usually provides only basic drivers without any control over the performance or any available configuration utility. I would recommend to upgrade to the full Windows 11 Home version and then use Intel's tool.
