Upgraded from win10 to win11 - Microsoft shows win10 in "my devices"

So I took the plunge and upgraded my desktop from win10 to win11 recently.

I confirmed that win11 is "activated" but when I went into "my devices" on My Microsoft Account it shows this device is win10.

Does anyone know how to update this with MS?

I just check mine and it is showing as Win 10 2009, so a few builds out. I upgraded through Windows Update and am on 21H2 22000.348 and have been on 11 for a few months. All is working so not bothered. It may be the licence, I have no idea

The OS Build version says: Windows 11.
In the number... 10.0.22000.348, the 22000 is Windows 11.
Windows 10 OS Build is 190xx

The latest non-insider Windows 11 version is 22000.348
The latest non-insider Windows 10 version is 19044.1387

The OS Build version, is the number that counts.


You don't even have to look at your MS Account.
Look at the OS Build in: Settings > System > About

Or, in the Taskbar search box type: Winver




In preschool, when everyone else was learning to count...
Microsoft was off in the corner, (with Intel and AMD)... playing with blocks. :)

It's just some internal MS idiocy. No one planned ahead.
I guess in the early computer days... no one thought there we be so... much product, that needed labeled.

It's the same with IP addresses.
No one thought there would ever be the need for more that 255.255.255.255 addresses.
But, 3-4 years ago we used up all the IPv4 addresses. :/

People just can't think ahead to big numbers. Books back in the 50's and 60's were warning of a population too big for the planet. They warned that there would be populations of, OMG, 2.5 to 3 billion people.
Where will we put them all.

We're up to 7.9 billion and still increasing rapidly...

Those older Windows version numbers, show up in the registry as well.
Run a DISM command, you'll notice the DISM version is way behind the Windows version.

I only use about 3-4 DISM commands. But there are LOTS of them. :)

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth <--- to fix things sfc /scannow can't fix.
