Upgrading windows 10 pc to windows 11 issues

Ok, I'm new to this forum and have already been told my motherboard and processor is not compatible with windows 11. By my PC builder and the "PC health check".

However I have had some conflicting advice that I can still upgrade this PC to windows 11. IS this still possible without completing a format of my main drive and a fresh install?
Currently on version 22H2 (OS build 19045.3803)
This PC cost me over £3400 back in 2015. Not expecting much. I have however upgraded the graphics card and swapped out a few drives.

I've done 3 Notebooks from 2013 and 2014 plus a Desktop from 2013 using the single-file tweak. However, there is no guarantee they will stay that way in the future against which I did it on hardware-cloned drives, just change the drive to get back to Win10.

Like Berton, I've successfully run Windows 11 on several non-compliant machines (physical and virtual) and I've used the one-file method (appraiserres.dll) successfully as many times as I've installed/re-installed 11. No hitches so far at all. We know MS could pull the rug out at any time, so we're prepared. Meanwhile, most of us are upgrading our hardware as it becomes possible for us. I'm now running W11 on two fully compliant physical systems, but I ran for over two years on non-compliant hardware. No, you don't need to format and go fresh. There are a bunch of threads here about how to upgrade from 10 to 11 without suffering.

Heck I'm running 11 on my 775 Build. I get the updates as well

Just download iso through rufus to apply bypass and run setup from usb in win 10 for in place upgrade

As was noted, yes, it is possible to run Win 11 on what is technically unsupported hardware. Below are two links that should help you.

Personally, I have installed Win 11 on literally dozens of computers that were not technically supported by Windows 11 and have NEVER had one that didn't work. I'm sure that there will be the rare exception, but generally speaking, if it can run Win 10, it can run Win 11.

Some will tell you that it is possible that future versions may not work, but I find it unliklly that Microsoft will pull out the rug from under you on a system where it is already working. After all, they want you running Windows. If you are going to have a problem with Windows working on your hardware, it's more likely to be with Win 12 rather than any release of Win 11. Of course, bear in mind that I could be wrong, so proceed knowing that things can change.

BTW, one of my systems uses the same CPU that you have. That system runs Win 11 Pro for me and serves as a general purpose file server, backup destination for my other PCs, and a Plex Server, and win 11 runs 100% flawlessly on that system.

I second using the Rufus method of creating installation mediate to install on incompatible hardware.

HOW TO MAKE INSTALLATION MEDIA USING RUFUS

1. Go here, scroll down to "Download Windows 11 Disk Image". Select Windows 11 Multi-edition ISO from the dropdown arrow. Click Download now.

2. Go here. Download the portable edition of Rufus filename rufus-4.3p.exe. Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

3. Insert a known good 8 gb or larger usb flash drive. Any name brand should work. (Some of the cheap unbranded ones can prove not to be bootable)

4. Open Rufus by double clicking on the file you downloaded.

Select the flash drive you want to use. (RED)
Click SELECT browse to where your iso is saved, and select the ISO image you downloaded. (Orange)
Verify the iso image shows in the box (Blue arrow)
Press START.

In your case Check only Boxes 1-4-5-6 Click OK.





Click Ok and Rufus will burn the iso to the flash drive.
To upgrade disable any third party AV. Open the Rufus created drive and Run the setup.exe file
