I don't completely understand everything in these articles.
But, after reading them, I changed the URL of my home page.

I use Firefox and have my Home page set to Google's search page.

Like this.... https://www.google.com/ ...and was getting the AI assisted search.
I changed my Home page (in Firefox settings) to this... https://www.google.com/search?q=&udm=14
...and all is back to normal (no AI assist)

This is why I use DuckDuck
It uses DuckAssist to answer questions you phrase in search, via Wiki. If you don’t want DuckAssist to appear in search results, you can disable DuckAssist in search settings.
Google shows you what it wants you to see regardless of the method used, by way of SEO ranking and paid positions.

I wonder how long until they patch that method above? Handy for the interim I suppose. I’ll send this to my son, thanks. He uses Google.

TY @Ghot Finally I am now back to simple old orderly search results in both FF and Edge.
Sigh. It's unbelievable the hoops we have to jump through to get what we want that works for us.
