Hi:

I want to run MS Money 2003 Deluxe on new win11 home desktop.
Recently d/l'ed from Internet Archive website the available .ISO file.

I used File Manager to "Mount" the ISO. I can see the filenames within the ISO file.

Which should I try to use:
  1. Setup.exe, or
  2. Autorun.exe ?
TNX.

To answer your question, to install any app you use it's setup.exe.

Older software can be installed in compatibility mode for an older OS.
To do this right click on the .exe, select "Properties" from the context menu. Select Compatibility tab, select "Run this program in compatibility mode" and choose an older OS from the drop down list. Apply OK, then run the exe.

One can also run the compatibility troubleshooter from Settings>system>troubleshoot>other troubleshooters>select Program Compatibility Troubleshooter

Personally, I do not use this application so this is an FYI on what I have read. Some folks have been able to get Money 2003 to work. Most have not. From what I have read, those that have are not able to use web activities like syncing to your bank transactions.

Others have had issues transitioning their Money files into Money Sunset. Maybe this thread will be of benefit. MS Money Sunset Pro

The autorun file is used after the .iso has been burned to an ODD, starts the install process, not needed if using setup with the .iso mounted.

Hey Steve:
This seems promising ... 🖖
No need for me to be concerned about IE6?
Will I be able to import my MS MNY2003 Deluxe records from a Backup file?
Do I use Restore or Import? Just now, I transferred the MS MNY2003 .mbf file from win10 to win11.
I use the last UK version MS Money 2005 which works fine in Windows 11. Just copy across your .mny file to the new PC after installing MS Money.

Some older programs I've installed weren't concerned about IE, may complain but I ignored the message. Windows is coded to bring up Edge when IE is called for, put iexplore in the Run box to test.

I have managed to install MS MONEY vers 17 on new Win11 desktop and import my MS Money 2003 Deluxe file; it is running OKay for about 1 week now. I restored from my MSMNY2003 .mbf file.
