Useful Windows 11 only APPS

Store itself is different.
Or usual APPS from Store modified for W11.
Microsoft Power Toys for W11 is one of them
Some, like Snipping Tool, heavily modified for W11.
New Video Editor.
If anybody finds and uses some other stuff, please post.

Powershell can be installed via the Store, as can Terminal.

I've removed every Microsoft App that can be uninstalled, except the photo app have worked at the rest of them and have disabled a few that are not officially uninstallable, need to go through the rest with Winaero Tweaker or my 3rd party uninstallers

They do not give me anything for the way I work, so I remove them

@barman58 in the future you'll be able to remove apps in house with winget remove cortana for instance.

They have a tendency to reappear when there is an update so it may be a good idea to build a script to run on a scheduled task once a week or so and then it's one more bit of housekeeping that's automatic

The major thing that I dislike is the tie in to the OS otherwise I could just ignore them

Interesting, Photos is one of APPs i don-t use but didn't uninstall it either. Otherwise for uninstallation I use Revo Uninstaller which has special section for APPs and uninstalls them completely.

That is me.
Working it out everytime finished with update/upgrade. Simply uninstalled and also disabled some from startup.

Are you on the DEV or BETA builds? i would not expect a CU for apps this close to the RTM date, unless it's the RTM build of the apps prior to the release of full RTM. Microsoft does tend to update in stages these days building up to a new full update release ( to lower the strain one their servers )

I used Windows10Debloater
and was amazed how well it cleaned out my OS without breaking anything. I also made myself a GOLD windows just for me because I reinstall often. Man I had to read a bunch of stuff because, you don't create a gold ISO every day and it takes time! But I must say that the win10 debloater did a great job!

I'm sure we will soon see a win11 debloater

I left everything mostly as it is because I', on Dev channel and still with W10 most of time. Don't want to miss out on anything new. Couple of days ago there was update for more than dozen APPs, this morning few more. I also thought there would be more CU and other updates this close to release, Maybe today ?

The Video app is part of the Photos app which I find useful. Handy for basic video editing stuff and for aligning a few screenshots together. I also use Paint 3D and Groove. That's about it.

There are a bunch of apps I don't use from MS either but some I find very useful. the phone app being the first one. In the beginning it was really unstable and a real pain but now, Works flawlessly with my Samsung phone. I also like the TO DO app. My wife and I share grocery lists. I also use the photos app (just to look at photos). I enjoy Techsmith products, VLC, Paint.net.

The most surprising app for me is the HP printer app. Not having to install the drivers and the bloatware from HP is really a game changer.

I have a colour laser printer but what I usually do is send any documents I want to keep a copy of to PDF Creator, and file them in the job folder

Then, If I ever need an actual hard copy I can simply print the PDF
