Using NVME Optane drive in usb enclosure

Hi Steve, booted in Ubuntu from USB but sudo nautilus failed with Screen seems not DRI3 capable or DRI2 followed by several dbus_object_path fails and Failed to attach to X11 shm. I will booting from it again and try again, the installer partway through the process said it wanted to get updates so perhaps it just never fully setup...

But I did also check what was labeled as "Windows" at /dev/nvme1n1p3 and is unable to access location, wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock or other error.

There was a blip at the top of the terminal window I missed due to scrolling that said to not use "sudo nautilus" but use "nautilus admin:/" instead, however still the same error I posted above unable to access the NVME mount. Thanks for the suggestion, and at least I have a Live Ubuntu boot USB and the Wifi did work on it too. For Hazel, I did submit a refund request for EaseUS Pro as well. I will keep WinISO as might need that again for some reason.

sorry to hear that Ubuntu cant access the drive. if Linux cant access the drive then the only other way to recover data would be professional data recover which is very expensive.

the only other suggestion i can make is download the older version of Ubuntu
22.04.5 LTS which doesn't have all the new Linux commands but uses SUDO.
best of luck, Steve ..

Maybe try Bodhi Linux? I've used that before and it's fairly simple and basic. Or Parted Magic? That's supposed to have various recovery tools and retrieve data from lost or damaged partitions. Also a useful tool to have IMO. I use it for wiping drives mainly.

Think I'd try Parted Magic first.

Using PhotoRec or test disk first apparently...........(AI)

That's not free but only about £15 as a one off.

Also live via usb. Can be booted from Ram

Edit - sorry I keep suggesting things that cost money :-) Maybe you have a copy anyway? The suggestion of Linux is a very good one.

The latest version of Parted Magic has a secure erase for NVME option now as well (just as an aside).
