Many thanks for that msi file. The earlier installation files were a hard fail, but this was a painless install.

A note on the original mention of .7z 7-Zip, I just downloaded a different .7z file and Win11 File Explorer now can natively extract just as it did with .zip files, haven't tried the .rar yet.

Sumpthin weird about it!
First of all, it requires the installation of Windows DVD Player,
then it seems to just piggyback itself off of Windows Media Player...



It also crashes a hell of a lot!

I wouldn't bother! Performance is terrible!
MPC-BE is probably the best performer for all formats, including VLC!

I try the install and it doesn't recognize my win 11 "64bits".

One can ignore all this and use Kodi. Works great with MCE remote too.

You are probably right, but the whole point is to make Windows Media Center work in Windows 10/11, not use an alternative application. I need it to schedule TV recordings for my TV tuner card. The original application Total Media displays an error that the card is used by another application when I try to access a TV channel. I'm sure Kodi can do that with the appropriate plugin, but I prefer WMC, it is easier to use.

Yes, but if u use a cable card you need WMC don't you?

If I remember correctly, Kodi can capture from a TV tuner with the appropriate plugins. I don't know if it supports scheduled recording or only manual recording. However, as I said I find it too complicated and I hate that you have to add plugins for functionality that should be supported out of the box. I prefer MCE which does exactly what I want without extras and much simpler.
