Solved UUP Dump

I get error that command contains spaces when trying to download script from the site I guess I dont understand how to do it , any insight would be greatly appricated

You just have to store it in a location that doesn't have spaces in the file path. So no folders with spaces in the folders or file name

better store the script in a folder with a short name like c:\temp\uup or something close to that

I always make a new folder on my desktop named UUPDump when I download from UUPDump.

I have to store my UUP Dump in under the C:/, cuz my User is "Jeremy A. Medlock" so it has spaces in the file name. . lol

I'm having trouble downloading, look at the error.

Usually for errors like that it's a "wait until tomorrow and try again" scenario.

UUP seems to be throwing up a lot of errors lately, there was a post a few days ago about stuff missing

It's definitely a lot more buggy with random DL errors than it used to be when I was an active Insiders user, downloading stuff from there at minimum once a week.

Not so much buggy as MS changing the basis, and it takes time to catch up. The ones from this site are fine,

This is a standard disclaimer. UUP Dump creates an ISO image based on an older build of the same Windows branch, before the script tries to apply the downloaded KB updates to update the image to your requested build version.

DISM cannot apply W10 or 11 KB updates, or add Appx packages, unless your host platform is any system that's W10 2004 or later. The script works fine on W7 & 8 to assemble the base ISO, but cannot be patched up on those hosts. Same for pre-W10 2004 systems.

I prefer using the scripts from UUP (Unified Update Platform) Generation Project (v2.4.18) [by @rgadguard & whatever127] for generating .ISOs, as their scripts seem to be a lot faster overall in .ISO generation. However, sometimes the scripts from there break, and sometimes, like when trying to make the Beta - Enabled .ISOs,. it still generates the Beta -Disabled .ISO (want 22631.xxx and get 22621.xxx instead).

Also note that their system for obtaining scripts is very, very clunky, until you figure out what is where and what can and cannot be made via scripts.

So, as a rule, I'll get the scripts for ISO generation from there, and any of the scripts that fail I usually go back to UUP dump and grab an ISO generating script there for that particular build.

And as garlin stated, it is referring to the system on your machine that you will be using to make the .ISOs - older Windows can make the base .ISO, but to include the updates, it specifically needs system files (like DISM) from Windows 10 2004 or newer.

Would these two Windows 11, version 22H2 (22621.2070) amd64 ISOs be the same even though one is listed in the Retail Channel and the other is listed in the Release Preview Channel?

The Retail channel has a message stating that there are issues with it creating ISOs. The Release Preview Channel doesn't have that issue.

This update has known issues preventing the creation of a working ISO. Because of this, you can only manually browse its files.

I've never been able to build the ones labelled cumulative update. They always show that for me.

I always use the one just underneath it.

I just realized how to tell. I had forgotten about this.

Use the buttons at the home page to enter each one and verify their ID:

If they are in fact the same build, that UpdateID should be the same, AFAICT.

@Brink or anyone else - can this be verified? I mean, it makes sense to me, but does the script perhaps force what release channel the build is pre-installed with? I don't think it does, but I cannot remember lol.

The public and RP builds are often the same at times. It will still be the same channel as the one you currently have.

Sorry, I meant for a clean install. Does the digital licensing also remember release channel on a clean install?

Only the edition matters for the digital license to activate. It doesn't matter which channel you are in. It will not remember the channel.

If by chance you are in a public build after a clean install, you could select to get RP builds again.
