Vivaldi browser issues

I have been using Vivaldi browser for about 4-5 years with no problems but in the last few weeks when I am on Vivaldi the screen with turn a grainy grey color and I can't do anything except shut it down with the power button, and when I restart it works fine.
Happens at least once a day.
Only happens on that browser, not when I use Edge.
I re-installed Vivaldi but it still does it.
Any suggestions?

Hi.

Vivaldi uses hardware acceleration for rendering pages, but this can cause issues with certain graphics drivers.

See if this makes a difference?

Open Vivaldi.
Click the Vivaldi menu (top left corner) > Settings.
In Settings, go to the General section.
Scroll down to the Performance area (or use the search bar at the top of Settings and type “hardware”).
Uncheck the box that says:
“Use hardware acceleration when available”
Restart Vivaldi for the change to take effect.

It could just be the current build that is causing this. Have you tried a previous build?

I didn't think of that, but like I said it worked fine for years then all of a sudden it started acting weird so it may have something to do with an update or a new build.

Have you tried disabling all extensions the browser is using? Type vivaldi:extensions in the address bar and click enter.

There's only one extension listed - Proton VPN
