I'm pretty sure that most of you guys know about Everything. It's a fantastic search tool.
I just thought it needed a proper home on this forum. :-)

Someone has made an Everything Toolbar for it, but I've never used it.

This is one of the few tools, in all of my developer years, that I had my own tool to do a thing, and I threw it away in favor of someone else’s. Everything ranks right up there with Notepad++, as far as remaining a high quality tool its entire life.

just for anyone that uses this and windhawk:

you can run mod "Better File Sizes in Explorer Details" and it will show sizes for Folders/Directories. comes in handy if you need that feature.

Yep, but the Windhawk mod can use the Everything index to show folder sizes in Explorer, which makes it not slow and sucky to calculate folder sizes. I don’t do it myself, but I can see it behind being handy.

I use Windows Dark Theme (since release). The "stable" version of everything - is pure cringe without a dark team - "if used late a night"! :dizzy:

Fortunately, they fixed that in their Alpha version. Tho, for some irrational reason - they keep the so called "stable" version in - blinding mode. :facepalm: You'd think... Everything and Double Commander devs - are one and the same (they do think and act alike tho). Same goes for others alike (who limit "the stable versions" in terms of basic functions).

you can make it close to dark mode.. but not official dark theme

There's nothing slow about this app (main reason it's preferred by most - as replacement for Windows search = almost instant results). Your app is probably corrupted or your system is buggy.

Everything's interface is trash. this (and integrating it into default Windows' search bar) are the only good that it provides

That's a matter of personal taste. Tried it...

Didn't like it (find it limiting for my preferences). Mainly, I prefer and use Windows Search (like the new/latest build even better). And use Everything strictly for file search and deleting remains after an uninstall (that's one way to check - if your Uninstaller lives up to the hype). As mentioned above - i dislike the stable blinding version - but actually like the Dark Themed GUI. I run it in firescreen for the extra details (files with same name could be in different paths - be it clones or different version).

Also use Double Commander (there's some GUI resemblance - so you'd probably hate this too), alongside Windows Search, Everything and rarely WizTree (you'd hate this too for same reason). If i didn't like their GUI i wouldn't use them. They're not for everyone (be it as a matter of taste - or what they can do).
