How do I get the volume thermometer to vanish quicker after I adjust the volume?

Generally, you just click somewhere outside the menu to close it.

Ok... why does your volume adjust not appear over by the Taskbar clock?

I feel a fever coming...
If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, you can adjust the volume simply by hovering on the tiny speaker and rotating the wheel.

Welp, I learned something new today. :cool:

Mine's always set at 100%. I just adjust the volume on the speaker's volume control.

There is a general setting for Notifications time out at:

System > Accessibility > Visual Effects > "Dismiss Notifications after this amount of time"
[The minimum of 5 sec setting appears to work for the particular sound bar shown by OP, but increasing it to eg. 5 mins doesn't keep it on screen for that long!].

This may also affect all other notifications.

(pn: My keyboard has Sound Volume/Mute keys, which, if used brings up that Sound bar.)

"Dismiss notifications after this amount of time" was set to 15 seconds. I changed it to 5 seconds. And the volume bar now vanishes in less than 3!
