Windows 11
OS is Windows 11 Pro, Version 21H2, OS Build 22000.1042.

The Photos app uses photos and videos found by the indexing function and shows previews of those photos and videos on its Collections view.

I want all of these previews, but not the photos or videos themselves, deleted.

I have solved part of the problem by disabling indexing of the Pictures folder, but the previews of previously-indexed photos and videos remain there.

Through internet search, I have found methods for eliminating the previews, but those methods apply to earlier versions of Windows and do not appear to apply to Windows 11.

How can I delete all of these previews?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure I understand correctly but in Photos just remove the folders it syncs with.

Welcome to the forum. If you are then so are a lot of the rest of us. I've been lurking around here quite a while and these guys teach me new things all the time. Now, if I could just remember them all.

I think I have done both, but if I didn't do so correctly, please let me know and I'll fix it. Thanks.
