Weird issue with taskbar buttons

Hello,

I have a weird issue with the latest Windows 11 Update (even if I'm not sure it's related)
KB5089549 Windows 11 Cumulative Update build 26100.8457 (24H2) and 26200.8457 (25H2) - May 12

All buttons work except those three: Wi-Fi, Volume, Battery.

Clicking on those doesn't display the usual panel (with the volume slider,...)

I already tried sfc, image health scan/repair, restarted explorer, rebooted my laptop, nothing. I also reverted the ViveTool settings then performed a reboot: not working.

Any idea to solve this mystery? I did a WU cleanup and I don't have a restore point to rollback.

Try to test by keyboard only instead of mouse. Use Tab key to move current selection to notification area on the taskbar (it will be shown as bright rectangle around active icon), then you can use keyboard arrows to select a particular notification icon. Select, for example, battery and press Enter. It should open the battery UI. The same for network and volume. Check how do work other icons too.

Are you running any 3rd party app that alters the GUI ie:startallback, openshell, start11, etc

None of them. I finally solved it through a WU repair.
