What Games Are You Playing?

I decided I'd get a game I've already played, but only on Playstation - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. They released an expansion pack, Skyrim Anniversary Edition, earlier this month, and I was able to get that bundle off Steam. It was great fun when I played it years ago, so I can only imagine it still will be fun. That should keep me occupied all through my winter break from work.

Been playing World Of Warcraft since Nov. 2005. Still love it. Also currently playing Forza Horizon 5 and Far Cry 6. I have played many others over the last 22 years. Some of my favorites have been Need For Speed, Resident Evil: Village, Skyrim, and one of the best games of all time, The Witcher 3. I got started way back with Half-Life and Unreal and actually still go back to them from time to time. The Black Mesa remake of Half-Life is excellent. I'm not into multi-player though. I'm just not good enough for that and my gamertag in Forza is Lukewarm Wheels. I'm 73 now but still enjoy a good game.

I've been switching between GTA 3 Definitive Edition and Guardians of the Galaxy. GotG is hilarious. GTA 3 still has random bugs and crashes, but I'm having fun with it.

The Witcher 3 is my favorite game as well. It was so well developed and executed. I'm not sure anything will surpass that anytime soon.

I tried to get into that game but could never get past the learning phase. LOL.

Once you get into the actual game and story of Witcher 3, you're hooked.

I have all three Witcher games, but only played the first game. I actually tried the second game first but also couldn't get into the game mechanics, so I put it away for a while, until I tried again after playing the first game. Still can't get the mechanics down for the second game. Haven't even touched the third game yet.

Yeah the 2nd one was a bit clunky, i played it again maybe 3 years ago or so and immediately was like yeah this gonna take me a min, was right after finishing 3 again though so that was to be expected, I always say theres games that are mouse and keyboard, and games that are xbox controller, witcher games for me are 100% xbox controller games, pc controls just make it even more clunky

I'm a mouse a keyboard guy. Don't have any controllers.

That said, I've been seeing games move in the "controller" direction for a while. The game that comes to me Dead Space 3 where hacking was a nightmare with a keyboard and mouse. Same goes with Prey and Devil May Cry 5. In fact, DMC5 is unplayable for me due to game mechanics.

Oh i absolutely am too as much as i can, Its a variance between laziness and always owning xbox/ps for exclusives so a controller has always felt just as natural as mouse and keyboard. Just take for example, FIFA, mouse and keyboard vs controller, controller will absolutely bend you over xD FPS games, Mouse and keyboard will bend the controller over.
Even games like assassins creed etc where performance doesnt matter in that regard it just feels more comfortable and easy on the controller, MB just feels like faff for something more awkward in that scenario,
Dead space, Mass effect etc that type of style i think can be comfortable on both for the most part, I replayed ME1 AND ME2 on the controller and then ME3 on MB and it was fine.
I think it all comes down to the game for sure, But you get some people who religiously will not use a controller(Not saying you xD) because they believe in some mad pc master race and MB is better than all at all times, when that isnt true xD

I played all the Mass Effect, Dead Space, and Dragon Age games with nothing but keyboard and mouse. The only game I found annoying with KB/Mouse was Dead Space 2 with hacking. Same went with Prey (2017), hacking was a pain with KB/Mouse.

And it's not that I despise a controller, it's just I've been gaming since 1998 with a mouse and keyboard so that's all I know. I'm also not a fan of game consoles, having the attitude that if I can't play it on PC, I'm not playing it. I build gaming PC's for a reason. That's me.

All that said, I've been thinking about getting a game controller, but that's a hard choice as I'm strictly KB & Mouse.
