Hello everyone,

I am now contemplating installing Windows 11 24H2 from 23H2. What is the preferred method? I think I will do a clean install since I only have MS Office and Firefox, Acrobat and 7 Zip installed. I prefer this method so that I can avoid more clutter on my C:\.

What are your suggestions?

Try Windows Update first. If that doesn't do anything, then...

How to get 24H2... now.

Assuming you're on 23H2, and your CPU has the SSE4.2 Instruction Set... Make a fresh backup first. (Optional, but a good idea.) I used the Media Creation Tool to download the 24H2 ISO from Microsoft, and saved it to my desktop. Then I right clicked it and chose: MOUNT And... I just did an...

If neither of those work... then I would try the clean install.
Keep in mind that the In-Place Upgrade, repairs Windows files, while it upgrades.

With the small list of programs you said you have installed, there is no downside. As long as you have a backup image you can always go back to square one and start over.
