The taskbar in the latest Win11 Insider build is locked. Does anyone know which registry key controls the locked/unlocked status of the taskbar?

As an aside, I was able to find a registry hack that enables the Win10 style of START MENU. I couldn't stand the Win11 Start Menu. You can find it here:

In Windows 10, this is the lock/unlock Taskbar key...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

TaskbarSizeMove (32bit DWORD)

0=Lock
1=Unlock

After changing the setting, you need to restart Explorer, or sign out then sign in

Maybe it'll work for Windows 11?

Unfortunately, Brad44, that's not what I asked for. I asked if there was a registry key to LOCK/UNLOCK the taskbar. At this time, it appears that this isn't possible.

Just got a new Insider build, 22000.65, and the taskbar now auto-hides. Still unable to change the height; it's still restricted to a one-icon height.

Also, the Show Desktop at the right end of taskbar now works.

hi there is reg hack to move the task bar from bottom to top
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3
when you double click on settings it opens a window then go to line FE and there is o3 under it if you change 03 to 01 the task bar will be at the top of the screen after you restart explorer
01=top
02 = Left
03 =bottom
04 =right
regards Brad
How can you do this?
The 0 doesn't input, and pressing 1 turns the 03 into a 10.

Hi,

You have to put the blinking cursor in front of 00 on FE line. To do that use the right arrow on you keyboard, then click on the Backspace key on your keyboard and write 01 or whatever! Restart Windows Explorer to take effect.

Any word yet on how we can disabled "grouping" in the taskbar?

I dunno. I don't have grouping, that I know of and I don't know how I achieved that.
I did an In-Place from Win 10 to Win 11.
