Hello.
Couple weeks ago i was unfortunate to cross path with infamous WHEA Logger Event ID 18 Machine Check Exception Cache Hierarchy Error. Every time when i want to play something demanding like Warframe, total war warhammer 2 or even garrys mod. Screen goes dark after just clicking icons and whole pc just restart itself.
Only thing that is registered its a WHEA bug in a Event viever with random APIC ID (1, 8, 9, 12...). When looking around other forums and this one , noticed a large amount of these bugs. My bet its a windows updates, but sadly i don’t remember when the crashes appeared. Checked temps, played around in bios, checked for mechanical damage, and no fix. Below i put things that i tried and also specs.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8 Cores / 16 Threads
Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550M-A BIOS Version 3636 (2026-01-04)

- Updated everything that needed update (Windows, drivers,Bios)
- Memtest86 (passed)
- I uninstalled gpu drivers with DDU and installed multiple different with no success
- Checked for temperature, between 70 to 80
- Re pasted and add new termopads to gpu
- Under-clocking, over-clocking didn’t bring any results
- Bios reset to default settings didn’t bring any results
- Disabled Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) no success
- Disabled Global C-States, nope
- Tested each XMP profiles (3000,3200,3600) no success
- Added positive voltage offsets and tested each. Added +0.025 V to cpu and worked only for like 3 hours and crashes and started adding more voltages to test them with no results (+0.050, V+0.075, V+0.100 V)
- Removed all CPU overclocking with voltages and none voltages, no success
