I'm on a fresh install of windows 11 and when I go into safe mode I keep getting this popup every 20 seconds or so saying

The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application.

It doesn't show out of safe mode, is this something to ignore?

This happens to me too. I ended up installing XYplorer in the hope that if I do need Safe Mode, I can use it because normal explorer gives me the same message and won't work.

I was just using Safe Mode with my new laptop as it came out of the box, although I do think it was an upgrade. Several diagnostics tools still identify it as Windows 10, even if System says 11.
Looking at this How to Install Windows 11 or Windows 10 from a Dell Windows recovery DVD | Dell Australia to do a recovery upgrade, there was nothing in the box. Should I create one myself and then do a repair upgrade? The option is not available when trying the recovery options on the hard drive.
I haven't installed any shareable drives yet because I had two but they were full and now I have a new computer anyway and I have to reorganize things.

A new computer should be trouble free.

How come there was a recovery upgrade?

If there are problems then ask for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and start with a trouble free computer.

I would not try the manufacturers recovery. If you feel that you should do something I would do a clean install. You do seem to have a few problems. You could try a repair install of windows 11first to see if that would clear things up. When you said you bought your computer the way it is, did you mean brand new or from someone else? If you bought from someone else. I would download windows 11 and wipe the disk and clean install. First make sure you have any needed drivers downloaded from the manufacturer's web site.
I do not know how much you know about computers. Here are tutorials about a clean install and a repair install. They are right at top of the tutorials page.

I also saw on the page you posted from Dell that you can make a Windows 11 iso from them further down the page. Or you can do as zbook explained.

I bought it directly from Dell, brand new, but I think they had upgraded to 11 from 10, and maybe that's why there are a few problems because upgrades are not always glitch-free....

It looks like the iso will clean your disk and clean install the latest windows 11 from the Dell iso. At the bottom of the page, they also have a link to media creation tool from Microsoft for win 11.

You are right, it is a clean install... It can be useful, but I have just finished installing programs... :(
Maybe I will look into buying the Home Edition next week. That should have all options.
There are many files in V2. Which ones are you looking for?
