Who remembers Friends Reunited.

Friends Reunited was really the original Social Media where you go in contact with former school attendees.

I remember trying it and I was sadly disillusioned.

There was a beautiful young lass I was always in love with (as were most of class).

The pictures of her as an adult were decidely unflattering.

Equally, one young "mousey" girl turned out to be a real stunner as an adult.

Of course, I went from skinny runt that Harry Potter must have been modelled on (especially the glasses) to an overweight balding guy (imo devilishly handsome of course lol).

My school was mostly posh kids from a very wealthy area but I came from the rough end of catchment area (poor area) and was always being beat up as "scum". I always hated school.

All these posh kids believed they would be top managers, lawyers, doctors etc.

What was really interesting was how many ended up with "ordinary" working class jobs like plumbers, builders etc.

It was purely petty of me but I sort of took pleasure that I achieved more in my career than most of my "foes" lol.

In the end, looking back into your past is often with rose tinted glasses and the true realities are completely different.

I have to say that despite all the thrills and spills and near misses and collisions I'm grateful to have made it this far in life.

I can honestly say that I have lived a full life.

If I were to kick off tomorrow I really couldn't complain about being cheated out of life and I think that's more than most can say for their own lives.

I'm not a wealthy man so I don't have a lot to worry about. I eat well, I sleep well, and I don't want for clothing or shelter.

Overall, I really can't complain. I consider myself blessed.
