I moved my MS Flight Simulator to a new SSD drive. I then formatted the old drive Y: but these folders are recreated which are empty. Why is this happening and how to prevent it?

Press the Windows key, +X and choose Disk Management.
In the lower pane, select Backup (SSD) Y: disk and delete all partitions until the drive is all Unallocated Space.
Then right click that space and create a new Simple Volume. Creating a new partition that can take up all of the capacity.
Format the disk NTFS, keep the same name and Drive letter. Apply and OK then restart the computer.
Those files should no longer be there in that drive.

I know a Program Files and WindowsApps folder will get created if you redirect where new apps are saved.

Thanks. I already fixed the problem by a similar method. I use MiniTool Partition Wizard to delete the partition then recreate the partition and reformat the drive. I believe that results in the drive being assigned a new volume ID which stops Windows identifying it as a drive formerly used for Store games apps and populating it with those folders.
