Widgets not working/updating - grey mostly sunny icon

Hi. I'm new on Windows 11 Forum. I've been using Windows 11 Home on my main PC for 2-3 weeks and 2 days ago my widgets on the bottom left corner stopped working and won't update, leaving a grey mostly sunny icon. My Web Experience Pack is fully updated. Most of the time, my internet's not bad. The only solution I found is restarting the computer and I'm not waiting 15 minutes for my computer to start again since I have it installed on an HDD drive. It happens every 9-15 hours. Can you please help find another solution to get the widgets updating?

Mine is similar but when clicking on it says to sign in, this Notebook is a Local Account only. It came back from warranty repair with the original Win10 Pro and after setup and the updates it got Upgraded to Win11 Pro.

Apparently there was an issue but seems okay now, it wasn't showing the mouse-over text of the titles.

Yes, I see they fixed it again.
shows temps and description like it should
I think fixes take time to roll out to everyone, as do breakages, which is why not everyone experiences the same things at the same time.

That was what I got with a Local Account but also when hovering or clicking on it wanted a sign-in, did that and got the full view.

I don't know what's going on, but too many things that were working have stopped working. Voice typing still does not work on Windows 11 RTM.

Here's something to do, while you troubleshoot...
This game will cripple your right hand. Be careful and take breaks now and then.

Note: When you get to 2048 you win, but you don't have to stop. There's a "keep playing" button.
I know I've made it to 4096 a few times, and I think I made it to 8192... once. :-)

I was so close to 4096............................ and 4096 :D

Image1.png Image1.png

Hint...
As you play... keep the big numbers at the top. High to low, left to right.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?

This am it is working again, shows temp.
I do nothing, it does everything.

I was just watching it, it turned grey again, then in a few seconds displayed temp and false weather data, rain. Now it updated again, shows temp and mostly sunny.

For my PC, I think wherever it gets weather data from, it stops getting it sometimes. So grey icon with no info is just the blank no data state.

I rely upon the "official" weather, had to work in interact with NOAA/NWS for my whole career of over 30 years on an hourly basis every workday so I visit their site to get the forecasts.

As for the widgets, it does take a bit of time to refresh after connecting to the Internet. It's easy to forget the routing of send and receive takes to get any information in the days of instant gratification.
