Windows 11
This has been an increasing problem where Win 11 cannnot find USB printer. On hp laptop 17-cp;3005dx can print test page, but Epson Print and Scan cannot find it. I use USB. Wifi too complicated with this PC and cell phones etc. Epson used to have a connect utility that fixed such problems. I have tied turing printer off, removing power, restarting pc, etc.

How does one get the Epson connect utility?

This is stock Dell 7720. Only thing not stock is that it is dual boot with Ubuntu Unity 25.04 and SSD has two exFAT partitions for my files. They can be accessed by both Ubuntu and Win software.

That is incomplete. Is that an Insider Preview version? The current RTM/Released to Market is this:

In Start, W, Windows Tools do you have Windows Fax and Scan? If drivers for the device are loading it usually allows scanning a document when other software may not. In Control Panel check Devices and Printers, Printers and Scanners see if it will recognize the device and print a test page.

Thank you. Version is Insider Build. However, this has been a continuing problem with my two epson printers under Win 11. How do I get copies of the correct drivers from Epson? Win 11 does not see the scanner side of the ET-4850.

Didn't find definitive drivers for the model you gave, must be more to it.

Strange, I can't find it on the US site either - particularly strange as it's here on the UK site.

I have had the previous model, the ET-4750, for quite a few years now. Nice printer ;)

Edit: oh, here it is for the US....

Edit2: weird, the link above only shows the drivers if I open it in Edge. In Firefox it's empty! That's why I added the download link. Tried it, it works....

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

Tried again and this page is more promising for getting the drivers:

Usually installing a printer Windows will set it as the default but some programs may not see it, easy to choose it in the Print process of a program.
