Win + Num for unpinned applications

Pressing Win + a number on the keyboard will bring up the application from minimization, e.g. Win + 1 for me opens up File Explorer since it's the first pinned app

However this doesn't work for any unpinned apps. So if I have the Notepad app open but minimized, and do Win + 4, even though it's on the fourth position on the taskbar it won't bring it to the foreground. On Windows 10 you could do this, so I'm wondering is there any workaround to this? thanks.

Try it with holding the Win Key for a little longer. It could be a response issue?

Also, apparently if "Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels" is set to "Never" it could be an issue.

If you don't have "Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels" is set to "Never" you could try this reg adjustment. (or try this key anyway) If it doesn’t work just delete the reg key.

Enabling always use LastActiveClick via the registry:
  1. In Registry Editor, in HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer
  2. In the right pane, create a new Registry entry by right-clicking > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  3. A new entry will appear on the right side. Name it LastActiveClick.
  4. Double-click (or right-click.modify) the entry and change Value data from 0 to 1.
  5. Click OK and reboot the computer.

Or I wonder if changing your keyboard layout then maybe changing it back again might help? Give it a kick in the keys.

This didn't work but thank you for the effort. It also probably definitely matters that I use Start11 but I forgot to mention that in the op
