I believe, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, is that you don't have to meet the minimum hardware requirements if you're installing from the Dev channel. Might even be the Beta channel. I installed from the Dev channel. But then, my system meets the required specs.

At present the hardware requirements are not enforced and will only return when the actual release takes place, users without compliant systems will be expected to return to Windows 10, by means of a fresh install. There have been some hints that microsoft will not prevent non compliant systems being loaded with the release version , although microsoft will not provide any support, including security updates

barman58 yesterday I did update to windows 11 to my windows 10 pro. I only got one warning. every thing went well. the first thing that came in when the system was up was two security updates. then this morning I received two security updates again. I used MCT to create the install for windows 11. I have as of later today restored my windows 10 pro back only to see if all would work. no problems.
