Windows 11
I've been working to upgrade from Windows 11 Pro 21H2 (OS Build 22000.1641) to 22H2 and having a really hard time. I'm trying to keep my documents and programs. I've tried with WSUS and with the ISO and I keep getting the same error. I suspect it's driver related, but I can't figure out exactly what's causing it fail. I can't seem to find the exact error message and would need to try again to get. I'll attach the setuperr.log and share a link to the setupact.log. Any help is much appreciated!

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

unsupported machine: Legacy bios, MBR, TPM 1.2, upgraded from W10 to W11 using W10/W11 hybrid install media workaround. In-place upgrade to 22H2 using ISO and a workaround. Feature Update to 23H2 by manually installing the Enablement Package. Also running Insider Beta, Dev, and Canary builds as a native boot .vhdx.

Not sure, but it looks like your system is unsupported. In 22H2 is not enough to replace appraiserres.dll with an empty dummy to bypass compatibility check. You must also stay offline (disconnected from the internet) the entire process. Make sure you disconnect from the internet (flight mode, or even better disable WiFi using the hardware switch or key combination, remove the LAN cable for wired connections). Run Setup and at first screen replace the appraiserres.dll file with an empty dummy. Click to change how Setup handles stuff (I don't remember the exact text) and select NOT to use Windows Update during installation. Then proceed as normal. Without internet, Setup cannot secretly check your compatibility online, so it will just give up and proceed to the end. You will know that if it completes the initial stage at 100% and restarts. Even then stay disconnected! Connect only after a successful upgrade to 22H2 and back to the desktop. For more details, read the respective thread.
