How would you be able to get a language from the mounted image to install on the machine/image?

How would you be able to get a language from the mounted image to install on the machine/image?
Your question is a bit ambiguous, because it can be read in two different ways.

If you're asking "how can I export a language from one existing image to another image?", the answer is no. Language Pack files are distributed in either .ESD or .CAB format, and applied using DISM or a PowerShell DISM command. Furthermore, you're required to re-apply any Monthly Update CU on top of the image after any LP has been installed.

So for that specific question, you can't "export" a LP.

If you're asking "how to install LP's from the downloaded Languages and Optional Features ISO?", you can read here:

If I do find a language pack, can I just add them using NTLite as I would an update?

NTLite (or DISM) can add the LP's as update packages. Just follow the cardinal rule for Language Packs: LP's must be applied first, and Monthly Updates applied afterwards.

1. Load the base image.
2. Apply all Language Packs, or optional Feature on Demand updates.
3. Process image.
4. Reload updated image.
5. Re-apply the Checkpoint KB5043080, and the current Monthly Update
6. Process image.

Can you do otherwise?

I'll just do what you tell me.

A common mistake is to apply the Language Packs on top of an already updated image, without re-installing the updates. This causes inconsistent translations because the resource files have to be installed in a specific order. Languages Pack have to be the "base layer" under the updates, because the updates map on top of the resource files.

It's just additional steps. Apply LP's to image, process image. Then add updates again.

If you need a script to download specific LP's, here's one I wrote:
PowerShell GUI for Downloading Language Packs - W10_11LangPack.ps1

The script downloads the update files, so it's not specific to NTLite and you can use the same files for DISM (if you know how). Download the LP's you need, and from NTLite, Add Updates from the downloads folder. Apply changes.

If you have licensed NTLite, you can use the Updates Downloader to download KB504308 and the current (March 2026) updates. For free edition, you can download the MSU files from the Microsoft Update Catalog. The links are provided from here (scroll down to "Catalog"):

OK, thank you for the reply.

I made two rounds, one with the language pack and the Cumulative Updates, and then one for the Cumulative Updates.

Will that help?
