Windows 11 - can i download 21H2 and overwrite it to 22H2

Try the Heidoc Download Tool:

I am on my phone at the moment so can't run it to verify it offers 21H2.

Ok thx , i bought Rtx 4090 and have 12900K but have lower gpu usage and high cpu usage on some games. What you think guys 21H2 will help?
I read that 22H2 have performance issues on some configs.

My bet would be that you're having problems with the "relationship" of the vid card driver and 22H2.
Like they are not working together very well.

Might want to play around with these settings. In your case, choose: Watch Dogs Legion

Image1.png

There's also a newer driver... 526.98
Just released on Nov 16th

Ofc, as others have mentioned, you can do a clean install of 21H2 and just prevent it from updating to 22H2.

Personally... I avoid GeForce Experience, like the plague.

If using the MCT/Media Creation Tool process you get both Home and Pro in one .iso file or one USB Thumb drive, which one you get installed is based upon the activation code or product key.

Where i can find 21H2 on UUPDump and how to use it

@Bree gave you the link for 21H2 on UUPDump

000000 UUP Dump.png

Unzip the download to a folder then run this command...

000000 UUP Dump combine command.png

First the command prompt window will be black, and at the bottom it will "look" like it's finished.
Wait till the window turns BLUE... then at the bottom it will "tell you" when it's finished.

While it's creating the ISO image, it will seem like it's finished quite a few times.
Wait for it to TELL YOU it's finished in the BLUE command prompt window.

The link I gave in post #24 will get you started. Select the language you requir and clivk Next. When you get to this page select the ESD compression.

1668780847170.png
That should make an ISO with an install.esd that's less than 4GB and that can be used to make a bootable Fat32 USB

When done selecting optios you will download a .zip file with the Aria package in it. Extract it all and run the uup_download_windows.cmd to start the process. It can take some time before the downloads complete and the ISO is built.

Or problem is gaming, so it is probably a gpu driver issue with 22H2 that needs to be fixed.

Yeah 4 times installing reinstalling drivers. I have issue with DLSS in Cyberpunk2077 i dont have any fps gain using DLSS ULTRA PERFORMANCE. Other persons normally have higher fps using that dlss on the same pcs. I think its windows 22H2 issue with fps problem.

I compared fps in Cyberpunk2077 benchmark with someone with the same pc ,12900K,Rtx 4090. 1440P,DLSS ULTRA PERFORMANCE,RT PSYCHO. So i am getting the same fps no matter what DLSS setting. On Quality and Ultra Performance i have the same fps. So i am bottlenecked. So i compared fps with someone with the same pc and he have higher fps on DLSS ULTRA PERFORMANCE . So question why i am bottlenecked? But i am using Win 11 22H2. He using 21H2.

Ok. I may not be able to help you getting back to 21H2 but what I can say is, when you are able to get back to 21H2, learn how to create a Macrium image backup of your PC so that you can always go back to it when you are having problems with updates. There are tons of threads about Macrium in this forum, or watch it on Youtube.

Version 21H2 would be a regression from 22H2. The numbering of the versions is year and which part, e.g. 21 is 2021, 22 is 2022 and H is half and 1 or 2 is which half, first or second. As for Version Upgrades it is now only once a year [2nd Half] and as with all versions of Win10 and Win11 there are Build updates which apply to the version and have different numbers. The updates usually are on Patch Tuesday [2nd Tuesday of the month] but may occur at any time as needed. I'm running 22H2 on both a year-old Notebook and a 6-month-old Desktop, no issues but then I'm not a gamer, prefer good solid machines [of course being less costly helps].

It's possible to be offered Win11 when using Windows Update, your choice. Just under 3 years before EOL/End of Life or support for Win10. Because none of my Win10 computers will properly install Win11 I got new ones.
