Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 13, 16 gig memory Windows 11 home. Every since I bought this Laptop It has issues with syncing with my Roku Tv. Roku TV worked great with windows 10. What happens is it will work for a minute and cut out constantly, So frustrating! I live stream from my Laptop with apps that is not on Roku. Yes I have updated windows. I have tried to fix it with certain tricks on Youtube but to no avail. I mean I have spent hours trying to fix it. Why does windows 11 have major issues syncing with Roku TV's when they have the capacity to? You all need to fix this issue. I even tried my friends windows 11 the same issue occurred, I sync windows 10 no problem.

I use Mezzmo to stream over Wi-Fi from My Mini PC to my other devices and it works great. Mezzmo is free unless you want to Stream over the internet. I did find that there was a slight learning curve setting it up. Only because it was something new to me and I had no idea of what I was doing. If you decide to try it, Roku has a free Mezzmo app you can install to connect to the Mezzmo server. There are also other streaming programs you can try.

I don't know if Windows 11 has a problem with streaming without a third-party app or not. If your computer does have any corrupted files a repair install should fix it.

Yes, mine is a Hisense Roku TV. Using an HDMI cable in the HDMI 2 port of the TV, I then plug the cable into my HP laptop. I then turn on the laptop, and when it boots to the lock screen, I turn on the TV and select HDMI 2.

In the beginning, I was using HDMI port 1 and it wouldn't work.

BTW, mine is a 43" TV.

We can't help you find out why the troubleshooting steps don't work unless you tell us the exact error you are getting. Better yet, provide screenshots.

You said "Every since I bought this Laptop It has issues with syncing" But then you say "Roku TV worked great with windows 10." From what I can tell that laptop never had Windows 10 on it so when you were casting/mirroring from Windows 10, you had to be using another entirely different device with different hardware.
Do you still have the Windows 10 device? If so, does it still work correctly using it today?

You also said "I even tried my friends windows 11 the same issue occurred". Yes, Windows 11 is a commonality here, but so is your network. You may have a setting incorrect in the problematic device causing it (one such is hardware acceleration should be turned OFF) or there could be network interference from another device in your home.

I'm not saying it's NOT an issue with 11, just that you can't 100% assume it is a Windows 11 problem. I feel if it were 100% an issue specific to Windows 11, this board and the entire internet would be flooded with similar complaints. An issue like this can be very difficult to diagnose because so many variables are involved. One can not assume.

I have a Beelink Mini PC that is running Windows 11. I use the Mezzmo Media Sever to stream my content and it works great. I stream to a Roku Box, a Roku TV and a Roku Sound Bar. They all work so it's not a problem with Windows 11 per se.

Glasskuter I had a Lenovo Laptop that had windows 10 and it worked great with my windows 10. Then I bought a Dell and it had windows 11 on it and it wont work right. Windows acceleration is turned off. I connect to the TV with the windows 11 Dell then it constantly drops connection with the TV. It has been a nightmare! So I have tried all the tricks and tips and to no avail it is windows 11. So you are right Wunuser it is windows 11. I wish I knew how to do what you did to get it to work properly.

When I get a chance this week, I'll install and setup Mezzmo on my laptop so I can give you a walkthru. Setting up the devices to use Mezzmo is easy. If needed install the Mezzmo app on the devices you want to stream to. Run the app and let it find the Mezzmo server. once the server is setup you just need to locate the file you want to stream. As for buying a license, you only need to buy a license if you want to stream your content over the internet. I only stream locally to the devices in my home so I'm using the free version. I do have a license I bought years ago but I'm not using it. I bought the license because I wanted to support the program. If you have a backup image of your computer, you can try installing Mezzmo and setting it up. It may sound scary (I know I did when I first used it because I had no clue of what I was doing.) but I found it easier than what I expected. In the worst-case scenario, you can use your backup image to restore your computer.

With a system image you can always go back and start over. Users should have system images even if they don't experiment with their computer. You never know when an image can come in handy to recover from a disaster. It's much easier than starting from scratch and/or losing important files.
