Hello, happy new year to you all! Is there a Windows 11 22H2 Sleep Master around? I need some help... In a nutshell, my laptop is going to sleep even when set not to.

Here's the long winded part:

Over Christmas I got myself a new Dell XPS 15 9520, as soon as it arrived, I did a clean install of Windows 11 and went from there. All was well, fully set up, everything back to how I like my Windows install to be. Computer would stay on just fine without issue.

I noticed that the Power Plan was set to Balanced and wanted High Performance, alas, it isn't available as standard, so I restored the power plans using the guide on this forum (A very handy guide too!) I also did a reset of my power plans. This is where my trouble began...

Before I messed with the power plans, my laptop would stay powered on (While plugged in) all the time, the screen would go off, but it would stay powered on, this allowed me to run my Veeam backup, or leave things downloading, no problem. After messing with the power plans, now my laptop will go to sleep at around the 1 hour mark, even when the backup is running. My theory is something is set to tell Windows to go to sleep after 1 hour of inactivity.

This is quite frustrating! So I've spent numerous hours trawling through Google, Reddit, this forum and tried multiple things, yet nothing seems to work. (It's quite frustrating having to wait 1 hour after every change to see if it goes to sleep!)

So I am hoping some kind soul, sleep master, extraordinaire, might have a clue, or give me a nudge in the right direction... I need it! I'd really hate having to wipe Windows and completely start again, it's days worth of work.

Here's what I have tried so far:
Customising power plans
Reset power plans
Removed all custom power plans
Defaulted power plans
Gone through hidden power plan settings to see if I could spot anything
Checked the registry power settings to see if I could spot anything
Tried disabling Modern Standby
Tried disabling Hibernate
Enabled 'System unattended sleep timeout' and changed from 2
Checked settings through PowerPlanTrace: Windows power plan settings explorer utility
Looked through sleepstudy-report.html (Attached)

There might be a few other things but I've been at it that long I've forgotten!

If someone can help, I would be extremely appreciative!

Thank you

EDIT: Oddly, another issue I've yet to fix is I use AnyDesk for accessing my laptop remotely. There's a bug where if you don't have a monitor connected, AnyDesk shows a 'Waiting for Image", they're aware, but haven't fixed it yet. Before my issues began and I tested AnyDesk I didn't have this issue, and it's odd that AnyDesk thinks my laptop either has no monitor connected, or the lid is closed.. So I'm curious if some setting which is affecting the sleep, is also causing this issue, however unlikely it may be.

Further to the above, the AnyDesk issue I posted at the bottom is unrelated and appears to be a known bug.

Interesting to note is in the Event Viewer logs, when the system goes to sleep, this is the message:

The system session has transitioned from 28 to 29.
Reason SleepButton
BootId: 18

Then:

The system is entering Modern Standby
Reason: SC_MONITORPOWER.

Then:

The system session has transitioned from 29 to 30.
Reason SleepButton
BootId: 18

The 'SleepButton' is the power button of the laptop/finger print reader

Solved! In a round-about work-around way.

I went through every single registry entry for the power options (There's hundreds) and compared them to the settings of another laptop, there was some oddities. This didn't appear to fix it, but only tested without rebooting. I also went through the bios. For the XPS 9520 there's a switch to disable S3 Sleep completely. This has stopped it entering Modern Standby, so it's fixed. But then the other XPS 9520 I was comparing to didn't have this disabled.

So there's still something wrong, somewhere, but the bios switch has stopped it. So solved.
