Windows 11 - how to remove this icon ?? (or button?)

Hi there.
I have Windows 11.

I need help to remove the icon im showing in the attachment image on this post.

I installed Open Shell to change menu.
I used "Enable_classic_taskbar_in_Windows 11.reg" to change taskbar to uncombine the tasks in task bar.
I used Winaero Tweaker to change some features.

I dont know if its "Action Center"...
My W11 is in portuguese language... when i stop the mouse pointer on icon, the tooltip is written "Centro de Controle" (translating to english it would be "Control Center")

But i cant remove this icon. Can anyone help me ?

Try going to Start, Search, type Focus assist*, click, click OFF.

the focus assist is alread disabled here

its not that
the icon (or button) is still there

I think i discovered what im talking about

i think i want to remove "quick settings"

this link talk about "quick settings", but dont show a solution to remove the icon from taskbar

Try this, then:
Click on the Action Center (where the icons of Wifi, volume, and battery are).
Right-click on an empty place and click on Edit quick settings.
Click on the unpin symbol at the top right corner of the Focus Assist icon.
Click Done.

Let us know if that works for you.

I clicked on Edit Quick Settings, so i unpined all things, but theres no way to unpin the volume

the icon is still there, dont disappear

i attached 3 images (1, 2 and 3, in sequence of steps as you said)

The Setting icon shouldn't be there. Try running sfc /scannow in Windows Terminal (Admin).

The only method I know that will remove the Control Center icon is StartAllBack!

Just so we`re all on the same page, you want to remove the edit quick settings icon from the taskbar, correct ?

I think the OP wants to remove the Control Center 'sprocket', as it seems to be the only one that you can't hide in the SysTray drawer.

No, I am using the classic style Taskbar which you appear to use too (at least it looks like it). Near the Time/date on the taskbar is a button that looks like a gear that opens the dialog box on your photo. It is that button on the taskbar that I am trying to remove. I would rather use a setting somewhere like the registry, but not something that runs like ExplorerPatcher.

I actually think I got that gear icon in the tray when I installed Explorer Patcher. At the time, I thought it was the Notification Centre icon, but in a gear-shape, not the box we are accustomed to. I don't think that it can be removed, if it's the NC icon, so long as you're using Open Shell and the registry hack. As soon as I uninstalled Explorer Patcher, the icon disappeared.

No I was using W10, I got that picture from an article.
Maybe it`s a laptop thing, I don`t have it on W11.

You do, I think, it's just not displaying a cogwheel icon. It seems to display a number of icons depending on what hardware you may have in your system. For my laptop it has WiFi, Speaker and Battery icons. The cogwheel may just be the default icon for when you don't have any such hardware in your system.

It is a combined set of icons though, as you can tell if you hover over it. However many icons it has they all get highlighted when you hover over it. And it doesn't matter where you click on it, it always brings up the quick settings panel.

Wow, I was looking at another thread and pushing the windows flag plus A bought up this very item :)
It shows everything but the battery charge icon. I don`t need to use anything on it.
I just noticed the skull in your wallpaper, nice.

I seen someone else mention that in a different thread too! Didn't know about it. Won't ever use it but useful to know! Cheers man I try and rotate them weekly. Pain changing all my folder icons etc to match though haha
