Windows 11
Hello guys.

As soon as i updated to Win 11 from 10 i also created a bootable USB installer in case i wanted to do a clean install in the future (through the media creation tool).

Since then there have been a couple updates released for Win 11.

I was wondering, are files updated in the media creation tool to install the latest build?

I was thinking of re doing my USB so i dont have to install the updates through Windows Update after clean installing Windows again.

Thanks

your usb created will have the build at the time of creation. If you do another clean install, the installer does check for updates and will install them

Thanks @timbobit i understand that. I was just wondering if every time a new build is released, the ISO is updated to reflect that.

You may have noticed Microsoft ISOs are not released on each build. However UUP dump
does make ISOs of new builds - check it out

I was just wondering if every time a new build is released, the ISO is updated to reflect that.
No, not likely. For Windows 10 the ISO from MS was typically updated once, or maybe twice during the lifetime of each version (2004, 20H2, etc.). There's no reason to expect the W11 ISO to be any different.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.
