When it works without serious bugs I like it. Glad to see they are finally introducing movable taskbars and start menu customizations including a choice in the size. Now if they would stop forcibly enabling things on us by default without asking like OneDrive, Encryption, Recall, ads in the settings menus, etc.

I was offered, and installed, an update to Windows 11 in December 2021. I didn't pay too much attention to it then, because it was about one month after my wife passed from a stroke. I have installed every update since then, without any issues. I have never had any real problems, but that doesn't mean there haven't been any annoyances.

My current annoyance is the network interface symbol in the task bar. My laptop only has WiFi, and has always displayed the WiFi symol. However, several updates ago, the usual WiFi symbol changed to the Ethernet symbol. After a few updates, it changed back to the WiFi symbol, but then, the next update, it changed back to the Ethernet symbol. I have KB5095093 downloaded and waiting for a reboot. Maybe this update will put it back to the WiFi symbol.

Everything still work fine, but it does annoy me.

Yeah. I'd give them a modern multicore processor but nerfed to 486 performance and 128MB of RAM. This is just for the OS part. Apps is another story...

Make that work, and work really well, then we can talk about an OS.

I agree. It was one of the few OS versions that did not cause much reactions, neither WOW effects nor complete disgust. It was no way near perfect, but it did its job pretty well without shoving crap up my rear end or down my throat in every corner

At it's age, Windows 10 felt more robust and finished, in despite of some UI inconsistencies...
Let's hope Microsoft can fix the course...

I think it was great when it first came out but the amount of regular change in 5 years has been a nightmare. I liked that the original version actually worked on my netbook.

Its going to last another five years. When it came out, it was the first true 64 bit OS and its stated requirements were stringent but people quickly managed to get it to run on so-called incompatible hardware. Basically, its a refresh of Windows 10 and brought nothing new to the table.

That could change drastically when Windows 12 is launched with AI embedded everywhere. I can only hope that with Project K2, Microsoft is rethinking Windows 12.

All the rubbish is because it's free. I'd almost rather go back to the days of having to buy a licence and having a simple operating system without all the ads and flashy stuff.
