Windows 11: Microsoft Edge Issues with i don't want it as my primary browser!

I have many times been clicking on the buttons on start-up whenever i use Microsoft although Mozilla Firefox as my main browser. But Edge seems to be persistent with not remembering that i have pressed the no thanks and the question pops up frequently.

Is there a way to shut this make the Edge browser shut-up? :mad: I only use it on a few websites that won't let me view them with Ad-Blockers turned on.

In about:config ...set browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser to FALSE

That will allow you to UNcheck this box in settings...

As for EDGE, I just blocked it in Bitdefender's firewall.
I only unblock it, if I "need" it for some website.


You may also need to set a few browser "Defaults" in Settings.
Just type: Default in the Taskbar search box.

I found them but it wasn't about config that worked in Edge. it was edge://settings/defaultBrowser.click set ass browser. Pressed make firefox your default browser and unchecked the "Always Check" flag.

But does Microsoft Edge have any other hidden flags in the settings by itself mine is version 112.0.1722.48 (Official build) (64-bit)

I knew that i even tried it by mistake and in edge it turn into edge://config as a unknown website.

Ublock origin I can usually block what ever obstacles put in the way.
