Windows 11
Hello,

I just recently upgraded to Windows 11. Now my printers are not working correctly. So I have 2 of the same printers but both installed with different names. Now when I try to print anything to both printers, the print job directs both of the print to only print on 1 of the printer.

For example:
if I choose to print from printer 1, it will print from printer 1
if I choose to print from printer 2, it will print from printer 1

Please help,
Thank you

I have a Canon multifunction printer and it caused me a great deal of stress after I upgraded to Windows 11.

This is my assessment, which may not be the full answer.

There are drivers that windows 11 will install during the installation of the windows. Some of the Microsoft
drivers that worked with win 10 will not work with win 11. They will block up the important USB port.

This is how I solved my problem with my printer but also with one wireless USB stick

1) Settings - Printers
2) Delete the printer
3) Let Windows manage my default printer - NO
4) DO NOT REBOOT
5) Install the manufacturer's printer driver.
6) Restart
7) If there is a scanner install the software after this.

This works perfectly for my Canon MF267

Well same problem here. I have multiple printers, too. 2 at home, 1 at work, plus 2 different pdf printers. All of them are acting up periodically no rhyme or reason. Tried the Printer troubleshooter, changing default printer, back and forth. Argh...I think it's just W11 not ready for prime time yet? Didn't have this issue with my previous Surface Pro with W10 same setup!!!

I have an HP LaserJet Pro M148dw and HP OfficeJet Pro 9015, both attached via Ethernet cable to my Router. No issues even when printing from Wired or Wireless-connected computers. Win10 and Win11 plus Linux Mint seem pretty good at setting up the basics, Windows Fax and Scan works along with the HP software where installed.

Don't let Windows manage printers, turn that option off.

That "problem" was in W7 too, nothing new. To windows managing printers means to default to first active printer and that's usually "Print to PDF". What I think is new in W11 is that a printer not connected and not on ready for printing doesn't eve show in Printers & Scanners or programs you want to print from.

Worked perfectly fine on my W10 Surface.
