Windows 11 New Feature Recall help

Hello,

Windows Recall takes screenshots of your screen every 5 secs as well as keylogging entries too. How do you disable this crazy mad feature in Windows 11 Pro?

Lastly what is the point of customising your Windows 11 computer like enabling/disabling win 11 setting like for example disabling Ads personalisation then for only in the future for Windows updates to enable what you disabled and to disabled what you enabled discreetly without you knowing taking you back to square 1 like a fresh install of windows all over again to settings like Microsoft likes?

How you stop this vicious cycle and make sure your customisation is unchanged even after Windows updates?

Why are you worried about recall? What Windows info are you reading and from where?

While Recall is present in the recently released preview of the Windows 11 24H2 update, Microsoft makes it clear that the feature won't work on current PCs, as it requires a Copilot+ PC (the new name for the 'AI PC').

I really don’t think we are supposed to disable ads so if Microsoft wants to circumnavigate any process that does so, then they most likely will.

It isn’t really discreatly, is it? They’re either there or they aren’t. It’s not like Microsoft is going to pop up a message saying “Hey, we know what you did, we’ve just undone it!”

You don’t. You adapt, find new registry settings or reapply the ones you have.

They're working on Open Recall, an open source privacy focused alternative to Microsoft Recall on Github.

Its not ready for prime time. No Windows installer or local GUI client.

The one advantage it has over the Microsoft version, its intended to be device agnostic and cross-platform compatible.

You don't need to invest in a Copilot + PC to run it.

Okay so to remove Recall from Windows 11 computers you just Uninstall Copilot?

So Recall selling point is it helps you remember what you used your PC for in the past on lets say for example the 16th June, 2010 at 5 seconds past 12pm just in case you forget right? And to your delight you find out that you was playing Crisis at 36fps or shows the website of the bank you bank with, showing you have $1 million account balance on screen that hackers/fraudsters love to see or the IRS taxman for undeclared income back over a decade ago or even Microsoft themselves bombing you with Ads to Invest your $1million with them in the stock market if you still have the $1 million after the IRS took you to court. Sounds very helpful to the windows user lol.

Ok how does the user adapt and reapply their setting back quickly after Microsoft has kindly undone them?

Wait they try to flog it off as Open Source to make it look like its non-privacy invading? So I could create a open source hacking app that hacks people bank accounts but don't worry its open source lol. And the irony of it all is they label it as open source Ms app in their closed source operating system windows. Yeah totally makes sense lol.

Jokes aside all these open-source projects get bough out by Microsoft at the end right so they can use that 'open-source' marketing gimmick to sell their draconian apps.

Completely Disable and Remove Copilot in Windows 11 Select the reg file in option 2. Download and run it.

Yes. Do not disable\pause windows updates, despite the insane advice I often see in these forums.
Please don't disable updates just because you're paranoid.

Recall is only enabled on AI pc's, so unless you just bought a new AI pc you can relax. And even if you did, you can relax and simply disable it.

A tutorial was posted above on how to disable it if you wish.

That only works if they have a Copilot+ PC. If they don't they have nothing to worry about because Recall doesn't actually get installed on older computers.

I disabled updates for one year just to see what would happen... Nothing happened. No attack no nothing. "The only time did get attacked was with ransomware and updates were enabled" I also did another experiment with no AV for one year. No Infection... Nothing! So if I can with no repercussion's do all that! What dose that say for Windows updates??? Just my experience with this.

I see those screenshots must take up a lot of space or those screenshots are uploaded to Microsoft own unlimited cloud not your own OneDrive if you have signed into your windows 11 using your email address right?
