Windows 11 Pro 22621.2428
Display brightness slowly drops down from a comfortable level to barely readable for a few seconds and then back to normal. This happens a couple of times per hour, with no real variance in room brightness. It does not happen with the Night Light setting turned off in Windows Display Settings.

Windows 11 Pro 22631.3447, LG 29UB55 B 29 inch monitor, EVGA RTX 3060Ti Video Card.

Its only a minor nuisance, but I would appreciate any suggestions to stop this brightness cycling.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

@Bree, thanks for the suggestion. I don't have a content adaptive brightness setting, or any brightness setting. I read the Tutorial and it is apparently only for laptops.

I did not find anything like adaptive brightness in Nvidia Settings. I started using System>Display> Night light on to reduce blue light and brightness. I may just have to turn it off and set brightness down lower than the 50% it is running at now. but that probably won't help reduce blue light.

If you don't mind wearing glasses you can buy Blue Light blockers from places like Walmart.

@Flashorn: Good thought but monitor was made in 2017, and general software is Windows 8.1 or older, with Windows 10 drivers from 2016 and 2017, so I don't think I want to try any of those. I might have to go with Winuser's suggestion and just buy some bluelight glasses.

But, that shouldn't make a difference. There should be a OSD for that screen even though it was made
years ago. You should have either a button that would bring up the OSD or software that would still
work even on W10. Try it. In the manuals, you should see if the OSD has any reference to this blue light
or a timer of some kind.

My OSD is somewhat different than the one on the link you provided. I did turn off Super Energy Saver. I did not see an Automatic Brightness control or Digital Fine Contrast function. I will watch it for awhile to see if turning off Super Energy Saver helped. Thanks

Welcome but, that had to be turned on somehow. Did you turn it on a while ago and just forgot about it?
Anyways, glad it is resolved and hope it doesn't come back.
