Windows 11 on Asus H97-PLUS

dism++ was used to grab the hard drive controller and network driver for windows 11 boot.wim then after finding a function in ntlite called import host drivers I integrated all the drivers running into install.wim
if it works then I won't have to update any driver ever again for this motherboard via 3rd party utility after install.
I discovered its best to integrate GPU drivers into BOOT.WIM too

So in summary "windows CA 2023" bootloader update will disable the ability to see or enter RAID menu at POST unless secure boot option is set to "other" in BIOS menu where you can then set up a bootable RAID array and then switch back to secure boot to install windows (with "windows CA 2023" included in installer.)
All Official BIOS patches will be refused by either motherboards built in Flash utility or the windows application. This is due to "windows CA 2023" update changes which makes the motherboard think official BIOS versions are all corrupt. This cannot be undone without manual programming by a programming tool which may mean removal of BIOS chip in due process to complete.
If windows 11 will not boot due to lack of SATA drivers, I recommend extract latest installed drivers from windows 10 after driver update with a free driver update utility and integrate them into windows 11 installer. After install check for latest drivers again and integrate again into windows 11 installer for future use. This ASUS H97M-PLUS uses TPM 1.2 and will not support TPM 2.0 TPM 2.0 can be installed but it will just say it's there and not enable no matter what.
Reaching out to ASUS for support will result in no response.
I recommend google "known issues with ASUS H97M-PLUS" before buying this motherboard its still cheaper to buy but it has a lot of hype, limitations AND BUGS.
Could be better as a home personal storage server but it hates more than 2 installed 8TB disks at once.
I actually bought another one its so cheap and not very nice don't pay more than about $45 USD.

I'm confused about this "CA 2023 boot loader" business. Did you switch to the CA 2023 boot manager file, and added the CA 2023 UEFI certs at the same time? Because you don't mention how you updated this PC.

I did the IOBit driver booster trial it downloaded all this useless apps and didn't find anything everything was up to date. I also saw 10+ drivers if I pay so I did and after the paid app scan it came up with nothing but app updates. Thus I don't recommend IOBit it scammed me pretty much by saying pay we update all these things magical and then do nothing but spam. I did try my expensive IOBit license on another motherboard it found nothing too and the license expired. I think the only thing IOBit driver booster did was spam adverts spin the frigging wheel gambling blah blah blah install VPN no permission etc. I am satisfied I have the best drivers that were released even after support ended for this motherboard. The free or donation based online driver updaters are good and also CCleaner driver updater (paid for that too). The motherboard BIOS version IS 3602 I have extracted it and compared to the official download version from ASUS Support and the one in the motherboard has a different checksum to the official .CAP but apparently same versions and same 8mb filesizes. The motherboards built in flasher will not accept older revisions and checks that the .CAP 3602 matches its own 3602 they do not match and the CAP is rejected as corrupted. ASUS sucks! next time I buy gigabyte!

now you learned your lesson the hard way about using such IOBit apps as it is mostly asking for more trouble & heartache

Well, I do not beleive you ae confused unless you are under 17 years old but I will accept puzzled.
I used official instructions from microsoft about CA 2023 to update within windows 11 (with 2 reboots). When I install windows 11 I now use a USB loaded with the help of RUFUS tool to use CA 2023 UEFI USB booting (until microsoft switches to it officially in official ISO download).
I have already used appropriate commands to verify installation and it checks out.

I never found any way to use anything unofficial to fix this BIOS if I want I can physically unsolder the BIOS flash chip and manually program back to official only.
I do still have an identical motherboard I intend to use in future when Microsoft makes CA 2023 the "norm" and everyone goes nuts about it (very soon) i expect the noise will be loud and many people will be posting things I haven't learned yet.
When it comes to legacy support Gigabyte has it over ASUS and the price of secondhand hardware between brands shows too.

I recommend Gigabyte over ASUS if affordable.
