Is there a way to set Snipping tool settings globally, ie. multiple public workstations that I want all the settings to be consistent either via gpo or custom registry settings? I would like to turn the Auto Save off and disable to screen recording functions to allow only screen capture snapshot "Snip" tool.

UWP apps don't work with GPO's or normal reg updates, because they keep their Settings in a per-user registry hive.

What you can do is copy your settings.dat to another user's AppData\Local profile. Or create a task to perform this.
Code:
copy "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.ScreenSketch_8wekyb3d8bbwe\Settings\settings.dat" settings.dat
copy settings.dat "C:\Users\Brink\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.ScreenSketch_8wekyb3d8bbwe\Settings\settings.dat"

Snipping tool is now borderline unusable, disappears after clip and doesn't remember the last place it saved to so each new snip you have to specify the same path over and over. Since Microsoft subjected my computer to the latest update none of the snipping shortcuts work either. Windows explorer is similarly up the duff. Last time I tried to fix Microsoft f-ups with their recommended fix tool I got infected with ransomware. So I guess I'll just wait till they computer rape my system with another update and fingers crossed they fix and don't break something else.

Hi, viv, welcome to the ElevenForums 🙏

If you’re having problems, make threads about specific issues, perhaps without the intended swearing and graphic descriptions. We’re family friendly.
Everyone is here to help, this isn’t Microsoft, just friendly users of Windows 11 that are here to help you if we can.

Starting off with:

Last time I tried to fix Microsoft f-ups with their recommended fix tool I got infected with ransomware.
Microsoft doesn’t have a fix tool that would enable ransomeware. I’d be interested to know where you got this tool from? You may of gotten “Ransomeware” around the same time as using this tool, but it wasn’t because of the tool, and if it was, the tool wasn’t from Microsoft.
How did you get rid of the ransomeware?
