I recently have noticed that after a recently installed update to my Windows 11 installation, the registry key that I use to force the Start menu to display all application rather the default recommended or recently used application has stopped working. I knew it would be a matter of time before Microsoft got around to doing this with Windows (a nice term of saying they screwed everyone who cared about having the standard Windows start menu).
I have tried using ExplorerPatcher and Start11 but it just does not feel the same. Does anyone have any idea as to why this has happened and if so, is there a registry solution to getting the 'Feature' to work again? I was using the Start_ShowClassicMode then the MakeAllAppsDefault registry keys. Both are now not working.
I still maintain that Microsoft should make this optional and provide an in-built setting to change what is displayed on the start menu as default.
