Windows 11 update unavailable

I have a 2 year old desktop running Windows 10. My update page in Settings tells me an upgrade to Windows 11 is unavailable for this computer. Can you tell me why based on this screenshot?

The only thing that would really stop you is if you didn’t have a CPU with SSE4.2, but you do have one.
You can install Windows 11 24H2 & 25H2 on a Motherboard without TPM2.0 using something like RUFUS but not if you have a CPU without SSE4.2.

So the Motherboard?

Edit: If your Motherboard doesn’t have TPM2.0, then Windows will report that your system isn’t ready. But like I said above, create the install media using Rufus and you’re good to go.

AI is referencing a CPU that doesn’t meet standards yet claims Rufus (or other methods) will work. Most of us have come to realise that this isn’t true.
And I think most of us have also learned that any CPU with SSE4.2 does meet CPU requirements for Windows 11.
But I’m all for being schooled.

I agree with you but still the upgrade is refused for some reason. My guess is it's the CPU but on what condition I don't know.

Windows also requires TPM2.0, however not as a deal breaker. But officially it expects it. If it isn’t detected, officially (but not technically) the hardware doesn’t meet the requirements for Windows 11 24H2 — This is my understanding.
You can have a compatible CPU that has SSE4.2 and run it on a incompatible Motherboard without TPM2.0
So far we know the CPU (according to the specs) is OK, my interest is in the Motherboard.

Although 11 can certainly be installed without it, have you looked in your BIOS to check if TPM is turned on? I would be surprised if a 2 year-old motherboard doesn't have TPM.

An i7 2600 CPU is from 2011 and it doesn't meet the oficiall requirements for Win 11.

I do have a computer with an i7 2600K CPU and Win 11 and is working very well.

It's a "new" computer built with old gear. His CPU was released in 2011. No way his mobo is only 2 years old.

The screenshot image has insufficient information.

Many Microsoft links have feedback options.

AI is growing and it would be useful to know for every error message or code what was found and how to fix the problem(s).

The information that you're likely seeking includes:

a) What triggered the displayed comment
b) What parameters were checked
c) Which parameter(s) require modification so that this error message no longer appears
d) What other parameters will be checked once it meets the minimum eligibility requirements that may prevent upgrading
