Windows 11 version 22H2 Feature Update available September 26, 2023

Smoke and Mirrors. Like Josey said, it is for all practical purposes 23H2. The 26th Cumulative tomorrow is a full blown dress rehearsal for 23H2 with all the actors wearing 22H2 costumes. On PT a teeny piece of code will change your WINVER magically to 23H2. Voila!

Even more daft is that all these features have been in Beta channel 23H2 for weeks

Public release of 23H2 features but still labelled 22H2

I only really want to check out Dynamic Lighting Control - is this something that will be available on Sep 26-2023 for everyone who checks the 'get updates sooner' in WU? Or do we need to be on release preview channel to get this feature a month ahead of general release?

Dynamic Lighting is in 22621.2361 build so should arrive tomorrow for all users

For anyone who might happen onto this thread and doesn't know, I want to point out that you will not see this cumulative on 9/26/23 UNLESS you have "Get the latest Updates as Soon as They're Available" toggled to ON. For anyone like me who has this feature disabled (I err on the side of caution and let cumulative previews simmer on someone else's system for a while before I jump out there and apply them), we won't see the update in windows update until regular Oct. patch Tuesday (or 23H2 release..whichever comes first in MS's screwed up update schedule.)

Yes, and it will show up as an Optional Cumulative Update for 22H2. I usually don’t do optionals either and just wait for the regular cumulatIves …….. per Brink’s opening post.

There are some who can just never wait to get their hands on the final bits. I know a certain someone whose first day on the job at Microsoft was April 6, 1992 - also known as Windows 3.1 release day. As they sat (somewhat) patiently in day 1 of training, they couldn't help but notice a huge pile of Windows 3.1 boxes sitting at the back of the classroom. Seeing how eager some were to get their hands on the final release, the instructor realized that nothing was going to get done until the hounds were allowed to tear into those boxes.

Not quite true. With "Get the latest Updates as Soon as They're Available" toggled to ON you will get it automatically like any other update. With "Get the latest Updates as Soon as They're Available" toggled to OFF you'll see it offered as an optional update with its own separate and independent 'download now' button - which you can click or ignore as you see fit.
