Solved Windows defender scan freezes on specific disk only

Smart says disk health is fine and it is not so long i was running a thorough chkdsk. Seems to be a disk issue tho, as I ran problems loading videos files into an editor from that disk, but other was fine. Anyone know what it could be?

(Of course, you have also done chkdsk)

You should replace the hard drive. It probably has bad sectors. I believe you have a 4TB HDD, they're pretty cheap now in terms of Seagate barracuda and you can clone data with macrium reflect.

I don't think so as Bitdefender scan worked tho. It is more likely some bug. And i did deep disk checks with several programs before...

When I see a disk freeze like that and the diagnostics haven't given a clue I go the long route and start scanning folders one at a time hoping the indexing isn't the problem.

I realized it is backup which cannot be scanned for some reason, never mind...
