Windows Defender System Tray Icon - Incorrect status

It seems sometimes when Windows Defender detects something bad and I already completed the action, the icon in the status tray is stuck with the alert showing. The only way I have found to reset it is to restart the SecurityHealthSystray.exe process with System Informer formerly known as Process Hacker, is there another way to do it?

How does one repair MS Security? In-Place upgrade of Windows 11 didn't help as I had the problem prior to March 31, 2023 and I did a in-place install upgrade of Windows 11 on March 31, 2023 which didn't seem to fix the problem.

Go to settings, then apps, and finally apps and features.
Search for Microsoft security or whatever it is called these days. - Just whatever has the blue shield.

Then click the three dots, advanced options and then click repair.

Thanks, just did that, it was Settings -> Apps -> Installed Apps -> Windows Security

Hope it works correctly, funny it doesn't do it for every thing detected but only once in a blue moon, I mean the system tray icon.

Yeah, I figure... Maybe even the uninstall option but not sure how to reinstall it. LOL

Uninstall is greyed out for me - but it wouldn't be too bad to get rid of it :wink:

Today, it happened and detected a false positive... So I changed it to allow and the icon didn't update, is there a way to turn off the icon and then turn it back on besides killing and restarting the process?
