OS
Windows 11 (Version 21H2 - OS Build 22000.556)
Brand new to this OS. Used the upgrade to 11 feature that's been nagging me for weeks. First glaring observation is the Windows Explorer task power usage is 'very high'. A restart of the task calms it down but not for long.

-thx

sounds logical - however, there is no activity in this case. the pc is idle, so this is a mystery to me.

I am having the same problem. It began today. I've restarted many times. I've also shut down and started. When I open 'explorer' the task bar at first shows 'power usage’ low. 'power usage' Very High. From then on, everything to do with the task bar, e.g., open another explorer window or opening programs, takes too long. I’ve been using WIN 11 for months without this being a problem.

I returned to W10. I am going to guess 11 did not play nice with a lot of my customizations. All's back to normal. thx for viewing.

I restored my system to a 3/19/22 restore point. Now explorer, the start button and programs open quickly, even tho WE 'power usage' is still listed as 'Very High.' What's going to happen with the updates and drivers coming next? I'll see.

I'm having the same issue. on 22H2, Windows Explorer hovers around 10-11% most of the time, but often just goes to 20-25% "just because" :/. I do wonder whether it's either OneDrive or StarDock's Start11 that's the root cause.
