Windows 11 Pro
When I go to the Insider settings in Windows, I'm told to turn on optional diagnostic data. I turn it on, then go back to the Insider settings, only to find the same error message. Turn on optional diagnostic data... I return there, but it is still turned on.

I'm new to this. I've only beta tested the new Edge in the past. This time I want to beta test W11 on a laptop I have. Currently it is running up-to-date W10 Pro.

On my desktop (same Windows, same settings and configuration), I do not have the issue. After turning on diagnostic data there, I can see the join Insider button. But of course, I don't want to test it on my desktop.

Any advice?

I prefer not to do a clean install with W11. And once done testing, I also would like to avoid a clean install, to move to the final version.

I did reboot yesterday, but that did not help. I fired up the laptop today to try the other suggestion and it no longer displayed the error...

Although it did tell me the laptop did not meet the minimum requirements, it is downloading W11 preview now anyway. I think only the processor is too old, other requirement are okay. We'll see how it goes. :geek:

Just to be clear. The issue fixed itself, I did not have to try the second suggestion. It took a while to download and install, but this laptop is now running W11.

I already changed the first setting, I changed the taskbar alignment to the left.
