windows map

say being chrome has stopped updating there map on win11 and yesterday when i opened it and got an uninstall message. so i uninstalled it. anyway i went online to find one for win11 and i thought i found one and today i got another uninstall notice. so i uninstalled that one.

so is there a good maps for win11? i do have a super closeup map but that seems to only be able to open with a new tab i'm looking for one i can put in the classic start menu and be able to use the menu to open the map.

so is there one that will work that i can use? the super closeup map does not show up in the chrome 3 dots that would allow me to add it to chrome. or i'm not seeing it there.

i think i figured this one out. we will soon see. i did get google maps finally into the apps in the upper left side. and pinned it to the taskbar. so now if it stays in the apps i can get it back. but now to see if the next time i need to use it i get the message to uninstall it again. thanks.

Are you talking about Google Maps on Chrome???

yes but after i posted, i did one more try and happen to find a google map and then hit the 3 dots in the upper right side of the browser and it was in the drop down menu to add it into the apps page. i tried that for hours the other day and i thought i had it done with getting the maps into the menu but it went away. so maybe now having it in the apps it may stay. thanks.
