Hi folks,

As part of a troubleshooting process for an unrelated issue I was asked to run the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool.

I did so and all completed without issue. Back in Windows, I got the pop up indicating all is well with my RAM and in event viewer under System I have two entries that state the following:
Event ID 1201: The Windows Memory Diagnostic tested the computer's memory and detected no errors
However, when I look under Application I notice two of following information events:
Event ID 1001: Windows Error Reporting:
Fault bucket , type 0
Event Name: MemDiagV1
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:
P1: 4097
P2: Manual
P3: Immediate
P4: Pass
P5: Standard
P6: 0
P7: 0
P8: 2280
P9:
P10:

Analysis symbol:
Rechecking for solution: 0
Report Id: 273f47df-3ce8-49e8-9695-49ffde0a64af
Report Status: 100
Hashed bucket:
Cab Guid: 0
Both info events occur exactly 1 second after the Event ID 1201 reporting a clean bill of health for my RAM.

Any idea why this happens? The only thing I can find about this is some Reddit thread where a guy is claiming this could be to do with my Intel 14700KF. For reference, my RAM is two sticks of Corsair 16GB DDR5 CL32 (total 32GB). You can find my other system specs below.

Please note I'm not experiencing any memory related issue with my PC and everything else appears to be running fine. This is more our of curiosity.

Cheers.

I think all good, but if you want you can scan for RAM errors using Memtest86+.

I have a rule that I learned to follow a long time ago. "If everything is working as it is supposed to, stay out of event viewer. Use it only if there is a need.".
EV is the best place to go if one wants to go around in circles chasing his tail and never getting anywhere. It's the best advise I can give anyone.

I get what you mean, but this was more of a curiosity. I’m not in the slightest concerned.

Annoyingly, I’m trying to test an issue with a game that is very much a problem with the game’s code, but I have to follow all of the troubleshooting steps the support team are putting me through, even if I know they’re unrelated to the core issue.

Ran Memtest86 and no errors.

Guess it was just Windows being buggy as per usual.
