well idk how to explain this but i have some issues with Windows Security
there is a yellow alert icon that doesn't go away, no notifications at all
i think some options are not available in the app

FWIW, I see warnings all the time that WD has issues and when I check, the system will say the system is not protected, but will show that Norton360 is the default AV. If checked, Norton will be active. I've pretty much taken to ignoring any messages about WD as Norton is constantly doing things and reporting them.

If Norton 360 installed correctly, it should have completely disabled Windows Defender. Check task manager. Make sure no defender processes are running parallel to Norton.
Another possibility that can cause it is an override setting in group policy.

I don't have any AV other than Windows Security
I tried Bitdefender for awhile but I didn't like it

Press Windows Key + R type regedit and scroll down to the following entry:

Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Policy Manager

- take a screen of that page (unless it shows only an entry called Default - then it's as it should be)

Next, scroll down to the following entry:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Defender\AllowUserUIAccess

And change highrange from 1 to 0 then restart the PC.

Does it show now!?
