Hello,

For some time now, I've noticed that after opening the Settings app on Windows, clicking on System > Storage causes a UAC (User Account Control) prompt to appear.
I'm curious whether this is an intentional change introduced by a Windows update.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any information about it?

Thank you in advance.

It gives you access to settings that can affect other users so it requires Admin permission to proceed.
That's how Windows has been designed since Win7.

Yes this was introduced I think in either the April or May Cumulative Update. The June Update has changed it again at least for 2 of our pcs. On them, when you click on storage, no UAC appears but there's a separate "Clean Up System Files" button at the top which uses UAC.
